Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

​​​Panama City Alumnae Chapter (PCAC) was chartered on May 18, 1996 by 16 members in Panama City, FL.

In 1992, Okaloosa Alumnae Chapter initiated three residents from Panama City. This formed a bridge between Okaloosa and Panama City. Okaloosa’s first annual Sisterhood Retreat was held on Panama City Beach and advertised in the local newspaper. From this "Calling All Deltas" ad, many interested Deltas from Panama City attended the retreat.

On May 18, 1996, Regional Director Deborah C. Thomas issued the Panama City Alumnae
Charter, and the chapter held its first meeting. The public attended a Chartering reception
immediately following at Gulf Coast Community College in the President's Dining Room. The Mayors of Lynn Haven and Panama City presented proclamations designating May 18, 1996, as Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Day.

That same year, PCAC was seated at its first National Convention in Orlando, FL. In the winter of 1996, PCAC hosted the Florida and Bahamas State Cluster at Bay Point Marriott on Panama City Beach and set the standard for Clusters to follow with its Southern Hospitality. PCAC honors fallen Charter member Yvette C. Crawford and past chapter officer Stephanie Blount with memorial scholarships given annually to graduating high school seniors. PCAC also actively partners with Rebuild Bay County, Inc. to create access to critical resources, education and advocacy to build resilient communities Panama City-Bay County, FL.
